Coffee

There isn’t much a cup of coffee and some Jesus time can’t fix.

Coffee and Jesus.

The perfect combination.

Time at the coffeehouse is well spent. It can be used to share with friends or minister to someone in need. It is solving the world’s problems time. There is always time for sharing a cup of coffee (or insert beverage) when someone needs to hear about Jesus, to have a friend listen to them or to just slow down the pace of life for a bit.

Never underestimate the power of a good cup of something and a bit of company.

I get these adorable coffee memes from this Pinterest page. (credit!)

I have my own coffee cup collection, and since I break them on occasion, I thought I would record the history of each one and share it with you. I hope you enjoy the story behind each cup if there is one and the memories made.

These Mr Right and Mrs Always Right cups I found on the last Christmas shopping trip I ever took with my dad in 2015. He was able to go on his own then, and we were at Elder Beerman. He laughed at me for buying them, knowing full well I didn’t have room for another coffee cup. That was a great day. We had lunch, shopped and got home safe and sound and not completely broke. This was 6 months after his cancer surgery and he had been back at work for a few weeks. He was feeling decent, and recovering well as far as we knew. It’s a bittersweet memory for me, because for those few hours, I had my dad all to myself and we had a slice of normal.

These mugs were a well-timed gift from our youngest child. They came as a gift pack with travel mugs. We had our first date at the Lampoons movie, and John is adamant about watching A Christmas Story each Christmas. We view them each multiple times because we are nostalgic (or bored) like that.

I received these two mugs as an anniversary gift from either my BGF.

I purchased this cup at the Alamo in 2018. I love history and John and I find ourselves gravitating toward historical places each time we travel. The Alamo was full of surprises, and we were very moved by our experience there.

Another relic from our Texas trip 2018. This is the most expensive mug I have ever purchased.

Also purchased on the 2018 Trip at the American Pickers store. This was a fun day in Nashville. It’s actually John’s mug, but who’s counting?

Coffee cup from my first writing retreat in Texas.

This one is from Idaho! My friend Sheila purchased this and sent it to me the first Christmas I knew her. Cherished.

This one has Peppermint Patty on the other side. I loved the message so I bought it.

The Never Give Up cup is a favorite bible verse. Galatians 6:9 It is a constant reminder to keep moving forward.

This cup is a picture of my family when I was in middle school. My daughter and husband made it for me as a Christmas gift. I love it and will cherish it always.

This mug was my grandma Thelma’s. She sipped coffee all day long in her later years. She would sit and craft or quilt, watch the Price is Right and whatever else she liked. She had Alzheimer’s and I was greatly relieved when her struggle ended and she was called home. I miss her a ton.

This was a well timed gift when my soul needed a reminder what this marriage is all about . During times of struggle and heavy burden John always finds a way to speak up and reach out. This was one way.

This is from my BGF who knows me well. She picks out funny things and sends them to me when it strikes her.

This cup I purchased as a fundraiser during the Of Mess and Moxie book launch. I had a lot going on then and wasn’t overly participating.

I have no clue where I got this, except to say I think it was a book launch and I do love the message.

This mug had a good message, so, its mine now

This is from Maggie, my future Daughter in Law. She is super smart and a gift giving genius!
